Gemak is established in 1969 by Naval Architect Mr. Ismet Üner as a small yard at "Golden Horn" in the Bosphorus, Istanbul. All facilities were transferred to Tuzla, Istanbul in 1981 which was designated as a ship repair and ship building area by Turkish Government. Following a demand oriented reasonable investment policy supported by the realistic vision of the founder, Gemak has become one of the leading shipyards in ship repair and conversion business in Turkey. In 2000, Gemak acquired Tuzla Shipbuilding Industry S.A. and entered into new building business.
